This is the 2nd time this has happened to me so I will try to let you know as detailed as possible.
I have a shortcut on my desktop that allows me to connect to the internet via dial-up. However, the icon in the bottom right of the screen doesn't appear anymore. I am connected and the connection runs fine but it is not there. Also in the my networking everything has disappeared. I will re-make a new conenction and as soon as you refresh it it disappears.

The first time this happened was about 2 weeks ago. I thought it was because of a virus. Actually I had 3 worm viruses on my cpu and managed to get them all off but they had done so much damage I had to reformat. So I finally have my cpu running again and last night I installed FFXI. Suddenly the icons are gone again. I really really don't want to have to reformat again because it has taken me alot of time and work to get this back up and running again. Does anyone know what is causeing this. I have noticed several posts on the FFXI message boards where this has happened to many people as well.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
