My monitor blinks

I have a new Dell Dimension 8250 computer. Every
so often my monitor will go black for a second and then come back on and
then 5 or 6 seconds later it will do the exact same thing ... then it won't
happen again for several hours. I contacted Dell and they
had me do a bunch of tests and ended up sending me a new monitor .... but it
does exactly the same thing as the first monitor. I have installed the
latest drivers for this monitor from Dell and for my video card (but it
happened before I installed the new drivers for both monitor/video card
too). Dell support sucks! Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.

Dell's support is actually one of the best. If you recently purchased the
computer from them, then you more than likely purchased a support agreement
along with it. If they can't fix it over the phone, they should send a
technician out to fix the issue.

Have you told Dell that the fault is still present? What did they say?
If you haven't told them then how are they to fix it? Does your doctor
ALWAYS make the right diagnosis when you see him, especially if you don't go
back and tell him that you are still ill.

I'm assuming that you meant to post this reply to Michael Mauzey, not me.

I can't agree with you more though. How is Dell suppose to know the first
step in solving the problem didn't work if they were never told. I guess
that means that every tech out there best wise up and fix the problem the
first time and say the heck with those troubleshooting techniques. Why have
troubleshooting when you have to fix it the first time, that just means you
have to be an absolute genius.
