Hi can anyone help me with this problem:
Every time I try to download a program or file from the
Internet (such as Acrobat Reader, or Flash Player)or when
I try to open an e-mail attachment, A box always comes up
that says :
"Internet Explorer cannot download...(file name) from...
(site name). Internet Explorer was not able to open this
Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable
or cannot be found. Please try again later."

Can anyone please help me and give me a solution to this
problem because I do not know what to do and I have tried
everything. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I'm working on this problem also. My daughter's machine 5 hours from me is
experiencing the same problem. (not able to download any files from Internet
Explorer) This all of a sudden happened with no apparent cause that she can
pinpoint. Today we created a "new user" and re-booted to that logon. All
the problems were fixed on the new logon. Of course they continued on the
old. She was also complaining of what appeared to be a very slow response
from Internet Explorer. This seemed to also have been taken care of with the
new user logon. She is using Windows 2000 and Internet Explorer 6. Oh by
the way, we do run anti-virus and all is up to date so there shouldn't be any
problem with a virus. Also we use Spybot and Adaware. Nothing of interest
was found by any of these.
