My IE is running considerably slow...

Specifically when I'm typing into a text field, like right
now. It takes several seconds after I hit a key until the
letter shows up on my screen. Almost a full 2 to 3 second
delay. Also, if there are any images displayed, it takes
several seconds to scroll down the page.

This is particularly strange, because IE is the only
program that is slowed down. I've run other memory-
demanding programs without any problems.

I'm currently running IE 6.0 with the latest service pack.
I tried "repairing" it, but the problem still persists.
I've considered reinstalling it, but it doesn't seem
possible. I'm open to all suggestions.
