My God - Microsoft does suck very bad!

After hours of searching through microsoft's convoluted
worthless website for VM download for windows XP Home, Of
course I found nothing but a bunch of crap articles. No
downloads. I tried many different help options, none of
which ever leads to any real help. Now I know that
Microsoft creates a web of confusion to keep people busy
so they don't complain too much too fast to them about
their problems. Anyway, I have XP Home and I want to run
the MSN games. I can't because I don't have the VM
installed. HOW THE HELL DO I GET THE VM INSTALLED!. It
seems that nobody at microsoft is smart enough to answer
that question.
Conclusion:
Bill really is the antichrist!

Now grow up and take back all the bad stuff you said about MS. While you are
at it maybe you can find an internet tutorial somewhere that will help you
develop better search skills. How many "hours" did you spend searching for a
file that doesn't exist due to Sun Microsystems's whiny litigators?

Even though there was the usual Microsoft BS at each
page, there was still no download to install the virtual
machine into an XP home installation that is missing the
VM. All were either Microsoft BS about how great their
product is (no installation), or an upgrade if you
already have an installation.
When I enter virtual machine or vm installation in the
search I don't even get these pages. Anyway, I think I
have to upgrade to XP Pro it seems.

Like I said...read a little. It's not a download site. The file isn't
available for download from Microsoft because Sun doesn't want Microsoft to
make VM available. Is that too difficult for you to figure out or
understand? The file hasn't been available for a long long time now. If you
had done a search of the MS public newsgroups for "Virtual Machine" you
would have found this out immediately before you spent "hours" searching in
vain. You need to develop some better computer skills. Maybe one of the
local colleges offers courses you could benefit from. You might also try
"searching" Amazon for some of the computers for dummies types of books.

Try Google:
Searched Groups for microsoft virtual machine. Results 1 - 10 of
about 235,000. Search took 0.35 seconds.

Stop looking on the MS web site for a VM download. It's not there. Either
install the Sun version of Java which is available at www.sun.com or
download the MS VM from one of the many non-MS sites that offer it. Either
of them will install and work fine with XP Home. Are you not capable of
downloading something from a non-MS site and executing the file?

Get 3805 first and then get 3810..You must get 3805 first>install it>then go back and get 3810 to update it for the secuirty hole.
Or go to Sun Microsystems and get their Java Machine.

Be aware, however, that after Jan 2, 2004, MS will apparently no longer
be distributing Java or providing any support for Java including
security fixes. (It's unclear as to how 6/26/03 court decision will
affect this) See here:

might want to start thinking about the future.

You can get the Sun Java J2SE RunTimes or SDK here:

For the MS Java VM, you may need to install v.3809 prior to upgrading

That's actually an extremely poor reason to upgrade to Pro, since it has
exactly the same legal issue. It is not a solution to your Java VM
problem.

You need to either find an alternate download site for the older MS VM, or
download the Sun VM. You won't get it from MS, for legal reasons.

Some people just express themselfs differently. And microsoft is quite
the %^*$@! for riping off the people. Look at OE6 opps if you dont buy
office you dont get a spell checker. Opps, well you bought the new
officepro but it seems to still use the old OE for newsgroups. And windows
has a CONTROL PANEL but how come all kinds of settings are inbedded
everywhere else? I think you should be able to make some advanced choices
and have them apply to ever program installed.

With your attitude, you will be lucky to get help - but, as this is a
regular problem:

MS produced a Java that extends the language as defined by Sun, so that
it would 'work better' with Windows. This was not included in windows
XP, but was available as a separate download, and included in XP SP1

(There appear to be sites that have taken advantage of this, and will
not work with the Sun one).

Sun sued MSoft, and the ruling in the case prohibits MS from making
'their' engine available as a download - so it is left out of the
revised SP1a

You can still get a 3805 or 3809 build from some sites that are *not*
MSoft sites - and MSoft is not going to object.
eg 3805 from Http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/msjavx86.exe

Once you have such an older version you can get the 816093 'critical
security update' which is effectively a complete build, 3810
