I have added a second hard dirve to my desk top and have swithed the My
Documents folder to that drive so all my files can be loacted on the new
drive and my programs can be located in the primary drive. I found that all
files in my documents folder did not move with the folder to the new drive.
Now I have two my documents folders which I don't want.

Also so I find that when signed in as guest I can access all "my documents"
files.

Anyone have any idea what I did wrong so I can secure my computer. I have
looked in all help subjects I could find and could not find information that
addressed this issue.

Hi Dave,

I am not sure how you switched your My Documents folder to that new drive.

Open your My Documents folder from your desktop or Start Menu. Verify that
it contains the files that you expect it to.

Right click on your My Documents folder and click Properties.

In the Target tab click the Move... button

Browse to your new drive in the window that appears and create a folder
there that you want to store it. Select that folder and click OK.

Click Apply and it will ask you if you want to move the files to the new
location. Click OK and move them.

To verify security click the Security tab in My Document's properties.
Remove read access from the Everyone group.

Thanks for the reply and the reply's of the others also. I had tried moving
it too the other drive but had trouble getting all the files to move. I
tried again per your advice and still had same result.

I must be doing something wrong. I am not a computer novice but it seems I
run into these situations where following the standard instructions for
performing a task doesn't get the job done. When I try to move the "My
documents" folder the operation starts and some files are moved and then the
operaton stops and I am asked do I want to move the system thumnails files.
I say no and the operation continues. When done I check the new directory
F:/myfiles and there is a "My documents" folder but only some of the files
are there. I check the original location and the rest of the files are still
there.

This operation seems to be very straight forward so I am baffled. It won't
be the first time nor the last I am sure.

Does anyone have any more ideas.
