"My Documents" folder deleted PLEASE HELP

Hello all, I woke up this morning and turned on my computer only to realize that every file in the my documents folder was gone. I tried system restoring and it didn't work. What could've caused this? Perhaps a virus maybe? Either way has anybody else experienced this before and if so what did they do? What can I do? Is there any way for me to get my very important files back?! I had some files in there that needed to be printed out and handed in today. I pray that someone can help me please!!
