When searching a document for a specific word I use Control F and it comes up
with nothing. I tested the viability of it with "and" knowing that I had a
thousand of those in my document, and still no results. I clicked directly
on the page, I am in teh document when I hit control F, but still no results.
I switched over from Corel WordPerfect recently and cannot figure out what I
am doing wrong. Any suggestions?

Ctrl+A, Tools > Language > Set Language and also ensure that proofing
is not turned off.

I don't believe that the language setting has any effect on Word's ability
to find text. If all the text is in text boxes, that might be an issue.

Is it possible either that some kind of formatting is being included in the
search (click the No Formatting button if it's active) or that Use Wildcards
is enabled?
