Ok, i was recently searched on google for a website that had movie
lines and MIDI, files to use for a school report i needed to do.
Remind you all that i was on my parents computer at the time of this
happening. When i got to this page my computer and the page froze. I
tried CTRL-ALT-DELETE, but the program kept on freezing so i restarted
my computer. Now my computer constantly keeps on restarting and i do
not no what to do. Should i order of try to find the disks so that i
could do a repair format, and see if that fixes the proplem or atleast
attempt to get the needed files off the hardrive? I have tried to boot
it in safe mode, last known good configuration, i have tried disabling
the atutomatic restart on system failure, i have reset the BIOS to the
original settings that it came with to see if that helped but it did
not. I have read about a virus that is supposed to do this called
BLASTER or something like that, it is a trojan worm virus so yeah thats
not good. If i could really just get on and get my parents Quicken™
files off the computer and someother stuff i think that would suffice.
If any of you know, would it also be possible to hook up their hardrive
as a slave on my computer, even though i know XP likes to fuss about
things like that and try to acces the hardrive that way? I would
apprecite any advice i could get.

Thankyou very much for your time to whoever may help me with this
issue.

Take your parents' computer (or have them take it if you are too young
to drive and have your own money) to a professional computer repair
shop. They will retrieve the data and clean off the malware you
downloaded. You are not going to be able to do this yourself. You
probably don't have Blaster (which is ancient in computer years) but
you picked something up from movieland (or a similar place).

I'm not saying this to hurt your feelings, just being practical.

Malke

Ignore Malke, he just forgot to have a childhood.

I'm assuming you are older than Malke is superassuming since you don't live
with the rents and are cognizant enough to know that you can hook up your
spybloat drive to your own computer as a slave, then you'll be smart enough
to figure out the jumper settings and BIOS configurations.

You may want to check for viruses while your at it. Read troubleshooting
forums and newsgroups at any major software site to see why the underbelly of
the internet is really the underarm and the inner-arse.
