I recently did a full reboot using a dell one time incident package basically
they charge you $90 bucks and walk you through a clean installation.
Everything seemed to be working fine but when I try to use the my computer
option it doesn't dispay the any of the drives... Could someone one point me
in the right direction. I have NAV 2006 and windows firewalls and there are
no viruses at this time....

What drives do you have?
How are they configured?
Do they show up in Device Manger?
Are there any errors?
do they show up in Disk Management?
What si iinstalled on Drives?
What OS are used?
Have you discussed this issue w/Dell Tech Support?

Thanks for responding I have 4 drives: C: Hard drive A: Floppy drive D: CD
drive E: DVD drive
As far as configured could you be a littlr more specific, what do you mean
exactly?
They don't show up in device manager
No errors that have been found since the clean installation, multiple virus
scans run
the C, D, E drives show up on disk management but not the A drive
What is SI?
I'm using Windows XP home edition 2002, with the updates installed
I haven't called contacted dell support is there a web site or something
where free help can be found. I'm still stinging from that last $90 bucks.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give
Joe

Yes I can boot up...
disk managment has all the drives labeled right its just when I try to use
find or use my computerthere are no icons for checking them and the search
won't produce any results...
no drives listed in my computer when I click the icon a flashlight just
appears in the middle of a big screen and thats what it stays like until I
close the window
I have dimension 8200 with 2.4 pentium processor with 40 gb of memory

Ensure ribbon cable and power connector seated good.
Verify the HD, and CD/DVD drives display in BIOS when booting up?
Press break pause key if screen flashes by to quickly.
Press Spacebar to continue.
Does A or CD/DVD lights flash on during boot up?
C drive shows up in Device Manager?
D and E do not?
