My computer sits too long on welcome screen

My computer sits at the welcome/login with the picture and my name too long. I click and it says loading personal settings and just seems to be taking too long. It wasn't doing this as of two days ago. Any suggestions what it could be?
 
Run Disk Cleanup and the Defrag program. Check for non-essential items on
the startup menu , (run / type; msconfig / startup tab) . Jym
