My computer shuts down and closes whatever im working on

My computer will shut down in the middle of something or sometimes if i play a game or am reading my email it closes the page automatically but the computer doesnt shut down then? My control panel auto restart is not checked. i think i have a virus maybe but i just reformatted the computer and it still does it. Any advice?
 
After you formatted the hard drive did you get back on the net right away. Or did you run a program and see if this problem would happen. You may have had a virus and formatting the hard drive wiped the virus out along with everything else, but if you signed back on the net without an updated antivirus program the virus is back
Always protect your computer by running an updated antivirus, firewall and spyware-adware programs.
