My Computer & Network Places Icons gone

XP Pro To-date

Had to restore from backup and those Icons are missing.

Need help to restore them. Why did they not come back from the restore?

Right-click the desktop, select "Properties", click the "Desktop" tab, click the "Customize
Desktop" button, and check the boxes, "My Computer" and "My Network Places", Apply. OK.

If the boxes are already checked, uncheck them, click Apply, OK, then check them again and
Apply, OK
