My computer is dialing itself online.

Anyone know why it would be doing that, and any suggestions to get it to
stop. Thanks.

You may have set up some applications to check for updates. Check the Task scheduler, Firewalls,
Windows Update, Anti-Virus programs, WMP, etc.

Do you have Outlook Express Minimized?
If you have it set to check for Email at regular intervals and you're not on line, it will
bring up the DUN.
Tools > Options; and either uncheck the option to "Check for new messages every xx minutes" or
change the option under "if my computer is not connected at the time..."

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet Options, "Connection" tab. Check "Never dial a
connection", Click "Apply", "OK"

Failing that, check for virus & spyware

This is a link to a small FREE program by McAfee Anti-virus named Stinger. It will scan your
system for 54 known viruses and trojans and repair them. You don't need McAfee anti-virus
installed on your computer... this is a stand alone program. http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

NOTE: Disable System Restore BEFORE you run Stinger (to remove any virus in the restores)

Another possibility is to borrow a second computer with anti-virus software on it, and put that
HDD in it as a slave, and run the anti-virus software to clean it up.

You were given the answer in the first thread you made. You need to
either scan for viruses/malware or take your computer to a professional
computer repair shop who will do it for you.

Making various new threads about the same issue isn't going to get you
any different answers. The machine needs to be cleaned.
