I have set up my son to be able to use my PC but obviously as he is only 6 I
don't want him to be able to access sites unless I allow them so he can
browse safely. Is there any way that I can do this please?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Usually one uses an Anti Virus / Internet Security application that features
'parental control'
I use F-Secure Internet Security on the sys my granddaughter has access too
http://www.f-secure.com/
There is a free, time limited download, for you to check it out. Be aware
these parental controls are not guaranteed to work for all sites.
PS I trust you have set up a limited user account for the child to use

Yes it is a limited account. I have anti-virus but don't want to have the
parental control on my main admin account. What I was hoping was there there
was a way to only allow sites that he can access. Even a lot of the
non-adult sites have some pretty graphic stuff.

Thanks for your reply :)

I'm going to break this to you gently, and I know you'll probably ignore me,
but here goes:

The only foolproof method of preventing a child from finding unsavoury
content on the web is something called Parental Supervision. The good news
is that this is free, other than the time it can take up.

I'm always surprised at "professionals" who STILL have to be asked "Have you
checked (event viewer / syslog)".

Ha ha thanks, that's of course what I do now. I was hoping that by giving
him his own limited account I could limit what he could view. That's a shame
but thanks :)

If your app has parental control it should also require/allow you to
password control this aspect.
Thus you can turn it off for yourself
