My current install of Windows XP Pro needs a fresh install it is over
three years old with SP1 update and SP2 updates.
I own an OEM CD of Windows XP Pro and would like to reinstall with
Windows SP2 intergrated into the CD so I do not have to install then up
date. (Just trying to save some time and steps.)
Will this install pass a WGA test after it is installed?

It should.

As there are no 100 percent guarantees in life, so it be true with computers.
As commented earlier, it should work, if you have a slipstreamed OEM copy of
XP.
One question though? Did your original installation of XP have SP1 already
with it?
What you are trying to do I do all the time at work, the only time I had an
issue with a OEM slipstreamed XPsp2 CD was with a particular model of
Toshiba that was shipped with the original XP (not sp1), in the two seperate
cases I had issues (and it has only been on this older toshiba model).
Slipstreaming a cd with the latest service pack is a common procedure the Sys
Admins often do and not only that Microsoft encourages it and provides
directions on how to do so. As long as the product key is still within its
class i.e. home, professional, oem, retail, corporate it should work with no
problems.
And it will definately work with WGA, assuming there has not been any major
changes to your hardware ( and by that I mean a replaced processor or new
motherboard), and that has to do more with the activation of the product
after install (MS usues 10 to 12 different check points that deal with your
hardware to authenticate that the product key is being used on the same
machine) at worst you will have to authenticate via phone versus internet, no
big deal have ot do it all the time at work and does not take that long.

You want to creaate a WinXP Pro CD with SP2 slipstreamed in. Don't bother
with SP1, it's included in SP2.

Frank is 100% correct, if your copy is only XP without SP1, you do not need
to slipstream sp1 before sp2. SP2 includes all of SP1 and the extras that
warrents it to be SP2.
