Beth T.

I have two different email addresses set up in msoutlook
2002. One is for my work, which is my own personal
domain, and the other for my isp. I don't want the isp
address showing up in any of my outgoing mail, so that if
I need to change it later, I can.

I set up my work email address as the default account for
all outgoing mail and have that address listed as the
reply to address in both accounts. When I hit the "new"
button in outlook and compose a message, it works fine.
But, when I hit "reply" and outlook opens up word as my
email editor, it wants to send the outgoing message via
the isp address. then, when it gets sent, I get a bounce
back message from my isp saying that relaying is not
allowed.

How do I make my domain email address the default in
word? OR, can I set up my isp address some how so that
it pulls incoming mail, but send the outgoing mail via
the domain address? The two accounts do not have the
same login and password information.

When you have composed your message, do you not see the "accounts" button
where you can select your sending account?

Milly,

Yes, I do see the accounts button and I can change it so
that it is sent with my domain email address, but it
always defaults and wants to send it with my ISP address
unless I specify otherwise. I'd like to not have to
remember to tell it which account to send it with every
time and for it just to automatically send it from my
domain address.

THANK YOU for taking the time to help me with this.

Outlook will always default to sending responses or forwards using the
account from which it was received. You will need to set the sending
account manually for all replies and forwards each time. Outlook does not
have a method for selecting this for you.

Actually, it depends on what Beth wants: if all she wants is to have the
message sent through her work server, she could just change the outgoing
server for her ISP account to point to her work server. The "from" address
will still be her ISP address, but the mail will go through her work server.
However, as you point out, there is no way to have all mail sent with a
"from" of her work address.

I am having the same problem.

I have two accounts set up, acct1 and acct2. For the most
part I always want to use acct1 so it is set to default. I
have also inclued acct1 email address in the replyto
section in account options.

Now when I send an email from acct1, everything is ok.
Then someone replies to at acct1. If I reply to this
email, it sends out of acct2. WHY?? This makes no sense.
Since I rarely use acct2, it is easier to just delete the
account than to check the options/send from every time.
Does anyone have any clue as to what I can do to prevent
this?

Using Outlook 2000/Windows ME

Thanks for the help.
