So as long as the OS is installed and the drive/partition is marked "Active"

Providing the OS is installed correctly, the partition is active and the
BIOS is set to boot the hard drive it should boot up.

Matter of semantics. MS changed boot partition to system partition as same
definition.

Under Wxp, I find it strange that one can have a "system" partition and an
"active" partition on the same physical drive yet no error message appears on
the screen!!!! Anyone know why?
