Everytime I try to import music that I have saved on my
Windows media player I get this..... The file
C:\Documents and Settings\Nickie\My Documents\My
Music\Unknown Artist\Unknown Album (10 5 2003 8 33 42 PM)
\10 Track 10.wma is protected using digital rights
management and cannot be imported. what can i do to
import these files

Hi there,

That means that when you saved the music to your computer, you had the
digital rights management system (for whatever program you used to save the
music) turned on. You will need to read the documentation on how to turn it
off, you will then have to save the music again...in fact you will probably
do better to either save to a different location, or delete what you
already have first.

I'm assuming these are WMA files ripped from a CD you own and not WMA files
you obtained from somebody else. If it's the later, then things are
"working" as designed.

Judging by the pathname, it looks like you're using Windows Media Player.
In WMP9, Tools...Options, uncheck "Copy protect music" on the "Copy Music"
tab. Once you've done that, you'll need to re-rip your CD.
