In some of my music folders it allows me to arrange by
track number however in others i dont have this option,
how do i get that option to appear in the one that does
not already have it?

yes, they have the track numbers and the artist in the
ID3 tags. However it still does not give me the option
to arrange by track number, artist...etc...

In Windows Explorer (at least for XP this will work), right click on
the bar that says Name, size, type, date modified, etc. just below the
icon bar.

That should pop up a menu. At the bottom, select "More". That gives
you a box with all the possible information about your files. Make
sure that "Track" and "Artist" are checked.

Once you've done that, you can click on Track to sort by the track
numbers.

Do you have the list of other items? You can do them one at a time,
but it's a PITA because you have to keep starting over.

The list that I have include "Name, Size, Type,
Modified" Those are the only options that I have.

'Fraid I don't have a good answer. I just checked several folders on
various drives including C:\Winnt, System and System32 as well as
E:\Audio and I've got the option for all kinds of information on each
one of them. I thought maybe it was something to do with whether or
not the folder actually contained audio files of some kind, but that's
not the case.

I'm using XP Home though. That could be the difference, since Home is
supposed to be more "multi-media" oriented, but I find it hard to
believe they'd leave that option out of Pro.

ya, in some folders i have those options and others i
dont, but when i look under properties they are
identical...just doesnt make any sense
