MUSIC BUT NO WORDS

This used to be fine but now when I play any music on my
PC I can hear the muic but the words and almost silent in
the background almost as though it is instrumental, can
anyone help? I am running XP. Thanks

make sure you're not running any third party audio

applications such as sound effects manager in the control
panel.
