Multitasking requires minimizing window?

In the last several days, although I did nothing I know of to change
anything, I find myself unable to multi-task without minimizing one
program window to get to another.

This is happening with IE, Outlook and Word - and at odd times and other
programs, which I haven't documented. All three will be open and on the
bottom of the taskbar, but when I go to switch back and form from IE to
Outlook or IE to Word etc, I first have to minimize the window on screen
to bring up the other.

This happens sometimes - I don't know what's different because it seems
quite random.

Any ideas of what I might look at?

TIA

Louise

Depends, Louise. Did you recently install any MS updates, etc? In the
meantime:

TweakUI/General/Focus

Prevent Programs from Stealing Focus - Undo (Line 66)

When a window that does not have focus is updated by its program, the
default setting prevents it from becoming the foremost (top) window,
instead, it flashes in the taskbar.

HeldUp is the easiest way to stop windows from disappearing behind other
programs. http://www.johnmacintyre.ca/HeldUp.asp
