I want to know how to multiply a single cell by a percentage.

ie: 2000.00 x 17.5% or 2500.59 x 30%

Does anybody know how to do this, appreciate your responses.

have notice that on the Mike's answer you will add 17,5% or 30% to the
amount, to have inly 30% of a value use

a1*0.3

The OP didn't ask for an *increase* by a percentage, but for a
*multiplication* by a percentage.

Hence =A1*17.5% or =A1*30%

Does anybody know how to do this, ???

A "percentage" .... in a "single cell", you say.
Hmmmmmmmmm.
Well, I think there was someone who knew how to do that, but unfortunately
he died in 1987.
So we're all sitting here waiting for someone else to come along and work it
out.
It's a darn good question and we'll let you know if we work it out.

See ya!

Zumble.
