Multiple users in Outlook 2002 (Windows XP)

I am running Outlook 2002 and Windows XP and have set up two user accounts on
the system. However, Outlook only seems to be working properly on one of the
account/log ons - whenever we try to open Outlook on the other (even if I
have signed out of the other one), it stalls (or the application hangs) -
sometimes immediately, sometimes just after emails have been downloaded. In
any case, I can never use it for more than a few seconds before it goes into
the "the programme is not responding"-mode. It is always on the same user
account that it fails to run... When I try once more and am promted to open
Outlook in safe mode (as it failed to load the last time), the same problems
arrises.... Can anyone help? Does anyone know this problem and a possible
solution? Can I delete one user account and set up several users (I don't
mean only email accounts) in the same Outlook?

Hi Lars,

The problem you describe indicates that one of your Outlook profiles is corrupt. When you mention that you have two separate user accounts configured on this machine, I believe you
are indicating that you have two different Outlook Profiles. An Outlook profile is a collection of services, address books and personal folders files that cen be configured for separate
users, or different configurations you might use.

For more information on how to create profiles in Outlook, please refer to Knowledge Base article EN-US;287072.

Hi Scott,

thanks for getting back to me so quickly. What I meant/hoped to explain :o)
was that I have two different system accounts (in the first screen that
appears after turning on the computer, we choose between two different user
names (mine or my girl friend's)). Therefore, I have not set up two different
Outlook profiles (I don't think so at least) in the same Outlook so to say -
once I have logged on, I just open Outlook. If my girl friend wants to check
her mail, she'll have to "chance user" on the system and not only in Outlook
and log on with her own user name. I never have any problems with Outlook
when I am logged in, but she experiences the problems described last time
(regardless of whether I am also logged in in the "background" or not)....
The solution might be that I set up separate users in Outlook and not on the
system it self - as explained in the link you sent me... ???

You do both. You have separate Windows users and separate mail profiles.
Set up her profile in her account. Control Panel>User Accounts>Mail>Show
Profiles>Add
