I have a user that uses offline files when they travel. Their PST files is
over 2 GB and is now causing problems. How can I correct this? Can you
make 2 or more PST files for 1 Profile?

Thanks.

Tim

you can have as many pst files in the profile as you want - while I think a
handful should be enough, there are a few souls with 60-70 and even some
with 150.

I am sorry to say that I have not looked into this yet. Can you please give
me any information as to how you set this up with multiple PST files? it
would just save me some time. No big deal if you can't.

thanks,

Tim

Just open them (or create new ones) using File, Open, outlook data file or
File, New, outlook data file.

Perhaps OT, but if you're using Exchange, why are you using PST files? Sync
the mailbox to an OST file (if you have a huge mailbox, you will want
OL2003) and be done with it.

Are you referring to "offline folders" as defined in Outlook? If so, the
issue is that offline folders reside in an OST, not a PST and you can't have
more than one OST. The thing to do is to disable offline folders, connect
to the Exchange server, move some of the data to a PST, removing it from
Exchange, and then reenabling offline folders again so that the OST is
smaller.

If you're actually referring to PSTs, then I defer to Diane.

Tim if he is still able to access the pst start cleaning it up and getting
rid of surplus messages.
Then drag and drop the message from one pst to a new one and reducing the
size of the original
If he is unable to access the pst its bad news
you might have to crop and repair and hope for hte best
