Multiple Profiles After New Install

I have reinstalled Windows XP from the disk inside of Windows. I thought I
was doing a clean install, the problem I had has been resolved with the
install but when I go into Windows Explorer and navigate to 'Documents and
Settings' I find that there are two of every profile, the new profiles are
the ones being used but the old profiles have all the old settings and
programs so naturally I would prefer to use these, but although they show up
in Windows Explorer I don't see them in the login page. Is there a way to use
my old profiles?
Cheers

No, but you can copy the data from them. The programs won't run.
They'll need to be reinstalled. For a clean install you boot from the
XP CD, you don't run it from within windows.
