Multiple OS's In XP.

Ok, I was building a system for a friend. His CD Drive was bad and wouldn't
read from the XP CD, so I put his HD into my system, installed XP and was
done. But now when I boot my system, it wants to either boot to the original
XP or the one I installed for my friend, but it's not there any more cause I
took that HD drive out.

So is there a reg hack I gotta do so Windows will automatically boot to the
original OS and not give me the option for the other one?

Go to Start > Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Click on the BOOT.INI tab and then click on "Check All Boot Paths"
to delete incorrect boot paths.

If the above does not work for you, then:

Right-click MY COMPUTER and select:

Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings > Edit

CAREFULLY edit your boot.ini file.
Your boot.ini file should then look similar to this:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

And does the new WinXP that you made on your friend's
HD on your PC now run in your friend's PC? Will we see
you here again? :-)
