I am about to purchase Windows XP from my computer but I
would like to keep my Windows 98 on the same computer
instead of buying a whole new system.
Unless you have a second hard drive or partition with at least 2 gigs [8 to
10 suggested] of free space, you will need third party partitioning software
to keep the current configuration.
If you do have the required space available, start install from Windows 98
and select new install when prompted. You can then select the location and
XP will setup a dual boot with 98 and XP. If you want to access the data on
the XP drive or partition from Win 98, leave the file format fat 32.
