multiple openings of outlook in Win XP

does anybody know how to stop a program from opening more than one instance of a program on bootup?
deleted every instance of outlook.exe in the registry, and in all folders...I reinstalled the program....can anyone help

Only one instance of Outlook can be running at any given time. What version
of Outlook are you using?
