Hi,
I'm hoping someone can clear up a bit of confusion for me. I have XP Pro on
my desktop, and Win2k on my laptop. I'd like to upgrade the laptop to XP,
and was about to order an XP Pro CD, when a colleague told me that I didn't
have to. He said that it was ok to use the same CD and key for my laptop
too, as I wouldn't be using both at the same time. Whilst this is true, I
thought the whole point of the activation process was to tie the install to
one machine.
I see on the licence that it says "1-2 CPU", but I always took this to mean
that some machines were multiprocessor, not that I could install on two
different machines.
Can somebody clarify this for me please? I'd like to keep all my installs
legit, but if I can save on buying another CD I certainly will!
Ta,
Dan
