multiple IE browsers open

I use IE6 (kept updated) on win xp. When I close my current surfing
browser, at least one, but usually two, advertisement browsers open.
I have tried resolving this using Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, and now after
reading a post in here, BHODemon, all to no avail. In my processes
window I found a file that had been called actsrv.exe but could not
find this listed in any process lists I found online. When I shut the
process off, the problem went away. After rebooting, naturally, my
problem was back, only now there is no actsrv, but there is a
dbcj32o.exe that wasn't there before. Again after shutting this
process down, the problem is resolved.

What I would like help with is how to determine what is starting this
process in the first place, and how to remove it. If someone could
please point me to a web page with info on this, or if it's an easy
fix (yeah right!) just tell me, I would greatly appreciate it. Since
it keeps changing it's name, I don't know how to search it out, nor
have I had any luck at microsoft finding a similar problem. Obviously,
I am pretty much in the dark about computers, so the closer you can
talk to a kindergarten level the better.
Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura,

What I would like help with is how to determine what is starting this
process in the first place, and how to remove it. If someone could
please point me to a web page with info on this, or if it's an easy
fix (yeah right!) just tell me, I would greatly appreciate it. Since

When you identify a program loading in startup about which you're not
sure, check with these sites:
Startup Programs.

Additionally, look for strange entries in the C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the
system registry, primarily in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.

Good luck

Sorry, I should have read more before posting. I Also tried
CWshredder, which found nothing, but HijackThis found and fixed the
problem. Thanks again, and sorry for the impulsive posting.
