Help!

No doubt this is simple for many except me....I have my
service with cox.net....I added an additional e-mail
address for my wife. The question is, when I open up my
outlook it "defaults" to my email, how do I switch from
my mine to my wife's when I am in Outlook?

Thank you!

It depends on which version of Outlook you're using.

1) You can only have one default account, so you should
set it up so that whichever one of you does the most
emailing is the default. The other will have to manually
change the outgoing messages to come from their account.

2) If you're using Outlook 2000, then when you compose a
message, there is a box called "options". Click on it,
and a screen appears. One of the options on the screen
allows you to switch which account the message is sent
from.

3) If you're using Outlook 2003, then when you compose a
message there is a box called "accounts". Click on it and
you can choose which account to send the message from.

4) If you're just using the email features and not the
calendar and other features of Outlook, you might want to
consider using Outlook Express instead. Outlook Express
(installed with Windows) allows you to set up
different "identities" for each person. Each identity can
have it's own account(s). When you have it set up that
way, it prompts you to choose an identity when you open
up Outlook Express. Then within that identity, you have a
separate inbox etc. I've found this is the simplest way
to deal with multiple people using the same machine for
email.

Hope this helps!

The best way for this to work is for you both to use your own profile. Control Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles.

Outlook Express is only a mail and news reader program. If the OP needs the features of Outlook (calendar, tasks, journal, etc.) it is irrelevant how easy or hard it is to set up OE.
