Hi,

I know you can add another display to stretch the desktop to two instead of
one. To do this, I just need to add another video card to the computer?
Thank you.

Jeff

Most computers only have one AGP slot, my video card can support two
monitors. But then are PCI Express Video cards which use the PCI slots and
require power directly from the power supply (but I am not to familiar which
PCI Express Video Cards).

Hi,

Can I have both a AGP and PCI video card in the computer to add a second
display to extend my desktop or do I need to get one of the special video
cards with multiple 15 pin connector to one connector to allow multiple
displays to be connected to the card? I have seen computers with a 2
(15pin) to 1 (30 to 45pin I think) connector as well as 4 to 1 connector to
the video card.

You are probably better off to get one video card that can support multiple
monitors. But I am unsure about the 2 video cards, one being AGP and the
other being PCI. You probably can do this but then again I am really not
sure, maybe someone else will post with a better idea about having a AGP and
a PCI card.

That's obvious! You *cannot* plug a PCI-Express card into a standard PCI
slot! The board has to be capable of supporting PCI Express (IOW have a
dedicated PCI-E slow). PCI Express is at least twice as fast as AGP.
Standard PCI cannot even match AGP 1x.
