Can someone give me the secret to deleting multiple emails? On XP, I just
highlighted one and then held down the shift key until I reached the last
one to delete. That no longer works nor does any other combo. Deleting one
at a time is real pain. Also, I'm trying to add the same windows newsgroups
I have on an XP desktop to a Vista laptop and searching microsoft.public
etc. is not bringing up anything?????

Click on a message and it gets selected. Shift click on another selects
everything in between. Ctrl-click adds (or deletes) just the one clicked
on.

The folder Microsoft Communities just has to be updated with your name and
there are the microsoft.public.* newsgroups (after it downloads the list).

If you're looking for newsgroups with names that don't start with
microsoft.public,
you'll have to add a different newsgroups server which offers these
newsgroups
first. I don't know if rr.com offers a newsgroups server, but if they do,
that's
likely to be one you can use to reach binaries newsgroups at no extra cost.
If they don't, you may prefer one of the free text-only newsgroups servers.
If you prefer one with all the spammers weeded out, try:

http://www.motzarella.org/

If you prefer one with nothing weeded out, except probably any binaries
posted to non-binaries newsgroups, try:

Okay I see how to delete now but I'm still confused on the newsgroups. You
say the Microsoft Communities Folder has to updated w. my name but I don't
see how to do that. I am subscribed to newsgoups on my desktop w. XP but I'm
still lost on my laptop w. Vista.

Click on Tools, then Accounts, then Microsoft Communities, then
Properties. Put your name or nickname on the Name: line. Put an email
addresses (munged if you don't want spam) on both the E-mail address:
line and the Reply address: line. Click Apply, then OK, then Close.
