I had to reinstall XP Home edition on my computer b/c original was corrupted.

My questions:
1. How do I get all my old files, software, etc linked to my new XP version?
2. How do I delete the old XP off the computer?

I'm no super-user with the computer so if you have the time, I would really appreciate step-by-step answers. Thanks so much.

Run file-transfer wizard, set computer as old useing unwanted copy of xp,put
the data on a new folder that you create(desktop is good),then when its thru,
transfer data to a cd or dvd. Then run in xp as new computer. To delete a copy
of xp and its partition, install xp cd,boot to xp cd,recovery, press enter key for
password, then type:DiskPart In DiskPart all partitions are displayed, delete
the unwanted,then esc.,then type:CHKDSK C: /R When its thru,type:EXIT
Let xp restart. In desktop,go to run, type:diskmgmt.msc In msc,see if the old
partition is thier,if so R.click on it,delete.
