How many computers can I load XP Home onto?
I would like to network four computers at home.

oficially you can do one computer per copy. Unoficially,
microsoft posted a lot of keys that always work but do not
allow service pack updates. Nice of them, eh? look for
corporate keys and xp in a search engine for the list. Or
maybe those are only for pro, I dunno.

You can install one (1) copy of Windows XP on one (1) computer.
A second installation requires a second license (Product Key).

In other words, you need an individual license (Product Key) for
each installation of Windows XP on a different computer. That
means you need to purchase four (4) licenses (Product Keys) so
you can install Windows XP on your four (4) computers.

Go to Start > Run and type: WINVER , and hit enter.
Then click on "End-User License Agreement" for clarification.

You can also open XP's "Help and Support" and type: EULA
and hit enter. Click on "Questions and answers about the EULA".

Microsoft did NOT post those keys.
They are stolen keys posted mostly by thieves.

Greetings --

You need to have one license for each computer.

As it has *always* been with *all* Microsoft operating systems,
it's necessary (to be in compliance with both the EULA, if not
technically) to purchase one WinXP license for each computer on which
it is installed. The only way in which WinXP licensing differs from
that of earlier versions of Windows is that Microsoft has finally
added a copy protection and anti-theft mechanism, Product Activation,
to prevent (or at least make more difficult) multiple installations
using a single license.
