Hi folks. Often, when I click on a link in IE, I hear four or five of
the "clicking" noises that IE makes when you click on a link. The
"clicks" are very rapid and after they're done, IE goes to the page I
want. Anyone know why this happens?

If I remember, google pop-up blocker makes this sound when it blocks
pop-ups. If you have google tool-bar installed in IE, it would explain
clicks.

No Google tool bar. Maybe IE's built in pop-up blocker (which I do
have turned on) is the culprit?

Could be. Might also be the pieces of the page you're looking at
downloading. Sometimes more than one file is downloaded to
present one web page. Also, sometimes there are redirects going
on where you asked for one page but are being sent to a different
one. That last one isn't good, but as long as you have your av
et al up to date shouldn't hurt much.
It sounds like the sound you're talking about is "Navigation
Started". There is also a similar one for Navigation Completed",
meaning cntact has been established and the page is downloading.

I believe it is JAVA doing it's thing, look in the lower left and see if the
word java is present when you hear the clicking.

Start | Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices then Sounds tab. Navigate
down to Windows Explorer then Start Navigation then change sound to none.
