Those of you who have a multi-monitor setup under Wxp, have you noticed any
problems? Are there any known problems?

None at all here, and none that I'm aware of. I'm very happy with my
two-monitor setup.

If you're having problems, you might try replacing the Microsoft Windows XP
driver (even if it correctly recognizes your video card) with one from the
video card or system manufacturer.

Just last night, I tried to set up multimonitor support on a relatively old IBM
laptop. Although Display Properties | Settings said that there were multiple
monitors, there was no "Use this device as the primary monitor" or "Extend my
Windows Desktop onto this monitor" check box or anything else that looked like
real dual-monitor support, although, like most laptops, both the laptop and the
external monitor showed the same display simultaneously. I replaced the
standard WinXP video driver (which otherwise was working fine) with the
hardware-specific driver fronm the IBM website and all works fine now.

I thought the drivers that come with the O.S. come from the manufacturers!.
Do you mean that Microsoft actually writes video card drivers?

The manufacturer provides them TO Microsoft for including in the
package. (and they tend to be more generic)
