Multi Language Issue

I have three multi-lanuage xpe images. One is Swedish, German, and French.
All of the customers at one time or another have complained of issues of
logging on to a domain.
I have a domain here and cannot reproduce the problem with the images. The
first issue was that the thin client would take 10 to 15 minutes to log in
every time you restarted or shut down the thin client. I found a patch for
that on Microsoft's website for each language. Now since the patch has been
applied the customer cannot log in with a domain-user the error message is
(freely translated from Swedish) "You can't login to the domain BROMMA,
because it is not available".
Any suggestions would be appreciated as there is not much on multi-language
support with xpe.

Thanks,

Debbie

You're saying you applied the patch to the devices in the field? How did you
do this? Also, did you test this patch on your runtime before deploying it
to the customer?

As i recall, the patch was simply adding some missing files to the
repository, without these files on the afflicted MUI runtimes, the domain
authentication process would silently error while the runtime and the server
negotiated for a specific period of time. Simply adding the appropriate MUI
files to the *correct* folder location within the runtime and rebooting the
device always resolves this issue.

Hello Andy,

I downloaded the patch and applied it to the database not in the field and
did test it internally to our domain controller as I was able to reproduce
the problem myself and it all worked fine internally to our domain
controller. The customer in Sweden said he was still having an issue as I
sent an entire new image after my testing. I did not apply the patch to the
target device itself. However, I have spoken with the customer since the
posting and the issue was not the image. The issue was in the active
directory itslef. I removed the computer name out and the customer also had
DNS and WINS information that was incorrect and it is working.

However, thanks for the information below on the correct MUI folders for
future use that is a good to know.
Are there any resources or links that can be informative on MUI builds?

Thanks,

Deb
