Multi-criteria SUMIF syntax

I am trying to use the SUMIF function that meets more than one criteria
Is this possible? If so, what is the correct syntax?

I'm dying over here. Please help

I already wrote to Bob to simply remove the 'originators'
for the examples . Probably all of these solutions have
been posted so many times and Bob just has inserted one of
these names :-)
Though I think the explanation for SUMPRODUCT on this page
is a very good (and extensive) compilation and I haven't
found something similar on the usual sites from Chip,
Debra, etc.

FWIW, here's one of the earliest postings on Google.

The latter uses an array formula version of SUMPRODUCT, but it too
advantage of multiple argument semantics, which are again becommin
more common in responses.

Here's an old post that shows that SUMPRODUCT's array argumen
semantics have been known for a long time.

If it were up to me, I'd guess credit for the use of SUMPRODUC
specifically in conditional summing and counting formulas that don'
require array formula entry should go to Laurent Longre since he cam
up with so many other idioms that have become so common in thes
newsgroups.

Now a tangent. The web page in question is poorly designed. HREF link
appear in the same color as other highlighted text. HREF links shoul
always appear in a distinct color
