MswaveDLL.EXE File Missing

Hi People,
Have a problem. running window xp. When the computer boots up I get an
error message, saying
Windows cannot find
C:\windows\SYSTEM32\MSWave.dll.exe
Click OK then a another box comes up saying could not file specified in
registry make sure file exists or remove file
I think this is related to windows media player, everytime I try to use it I
get constant errors.
Would appreciate any help on how to fix this problem
