MSN problems connecting does not work

I try to log onto Windows Messenger or Msn Messenger and
it come up with the error hat i am not connected to the
internet or that i am behind a firewall and i am NOT
behind a firewall i uninstalled it and still didnt work
and i tried that regsvr32 softpub.dll thing also nothing
my clock is at the right date i have no idea what is
wrong it just started happening today please help Mr.Kay
