MSN Messenger not working

Greetings, I can't seem to sign into Messenger and whenever I go to try to login to Hotmail or Passport, I get a "Page cannot be displayed" error.

Help please.

As a quick fix, click Start, then Run, and enter the following
regsvr32 softpub.dl
then click O

This will re-register the necessary security DLLs which may have been damaged.
