MSN and Windows Messenger Together

When trying to initiate video call from Windows Messenger
to MSN Messenger (both XP), error message says I need to
download MSN Messenger. Can it be that they are not
compatible? This seems ludicrous.

Just that it told me I needed to download MSN Messenger
if I wanted to videocall. I did so, then uninstalled it
after I read your reply. Now when I try from Windows
Messenger, I no longer get message.

One question, though -- for someone using MSN 8 software
and XP, is it preferred to use MSN Messenger or Windows
Messenger, and why? The only difference I can see is the
games.

Hi J,

If someone is using MSN 8 (and logged into it), MSN Messenger will be used by default -- you
can't use Windows Messenger with MSN 8 logged in.
