Msn 6.2

I am running Windows XP Pro and the windows messenger 4.7
works ok but it won't let me run Messenger 6.2 says
something about cannot connect because of proxy something
or other. Why can I not run this but can run 4.7?
 
Greetings Chrissy,

Within MSN Messenger 6.x, click the Tools menu, then Options, then Connection tab, uncheck
the 'I use a proxy server' option, click OK and try again.

Uninstall messenger 4.7 as well as 6.2 then re-install

messenger 6.2, it will remember all of you contacts...
