Hi, I'm running XP home and when starting one user
account something seems to be kicking off msmsgs.exe so
that it hogs 97% CPU time. I have Norton, always updated
and I've tried Spybot too but can't fond anything wrong.
In any of my other 3 user accounts I don't have this
problem. I tried to delete the user and recreted it but
the problem came back in the new user account. Comparing
with other accounts there do not appear to be any othet
unwanted processes.

Any ideas would be gratefully received,

Thanks, Bob

Hi just registered today :)
i am not a xpert on any windows , but i dont think its any maliciou
ware that is active.
( i am of course not yet familiar with XP so it might be anothe
problem)
i still use the good old 98se but have same problem wit cpu usage an
memory wasted :)

it also lowers my memory % with 15 to 20%

so i guess its kinda unavoidable.

if someone knows a solution that works on all windows systems (xcep
for the: insert more memory or use linux jokes) i would love to hea
them
