I have msmapi32.ocx with file date 7/23/99 2:32pm on my machine. I
downloaded the one CMM referenced in his response to my post "Send To
Mail Recipient" which has the file date 6/24/98 10:56am. I've already
extracted it from the .cab. It also had a file msmapi32.inf with it in
the .cab file.

I'm not sure if I just need to copy the new msmapi32.ocx to
c:\windows\system32 or if I then need to run regsvr32 on it? Do I need
to do anything with the .inf file?

First, you should post these messages under the original thread. Makes
things easier that way.

Anyway, from what I remember, all you need to do to install the ocx is
right-click on the INF file and choose Install.

My apologies to my posting methods. I don't know how most folks view
this forum or whatever it's called. I am concerned that as threads get
old folks no longer see posts to them. Plus if I think a tread is
finished but then have a problem, as all too often happens I figure
everyone else will also think it was finished and not be watching it.
Lastly I was trying to put specific questions in specific threads
instead of the evolving questions surrounding a project in one
thread--perhaps I shouldn't.

I use Thunderbird to view these threads and the older they get the more
unlikely I am to see posts to them unless they are my threads and then
even if I think they are done I don't go back to look at them. I also
have the ability to cancel a message and do but that apparently doesn't
stop some folks from seeing it. It removes it from my view and it is
different from ignore which also removes it from my view.

I figured someone probably knows how to handle this situation that
wouldn't be interested in or reading the Mailto thread so I figure this
goes in a separate thread. I agree it gets confusing--even when one
thread branches. Folks seem to read only their branch and then many
give the exact same advice like they didn't read the other persons. The
again I know I've posted follow ups and when the screen refreshes I find
someone else was adding something at the same time I was that makes my
post irrelevant. So again I don't know how other are seeing this forum.

Lastly, I try to find an answer before posting but even after posting
I'm not just sitting on my hands waiting for a reply. I want an answer
fast so I'm still trying to find an answer myself too. Sometimes I get
the answer before a reply is posted. I can't seem to completely cancel
my post and then unfortunately finding the answer more times than not
actually presents a new question.

I find these forums frustrating in situations like this but
unfortunately they're the best help I've got.
