MSIE6.0 Download Error

I recently received a new DELL 8400 PC and have encountered problems with
IE6.0 when downloading (for extended periods - 28MB). I receive the
following IE error about half way through:

Internet Explorer cannot download (filename) from (URL)

The connection with ther server was reset.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

You were probably connected with a very slow/overloaded server. Try using a
download manager so you can resume your downloads.

Assuming the download site is download manager friendly.

Homer, not quite sure what you mean by "download manager", been downloading
(or equivilant for 25 years never heard of a downloads manager) can you be

Kelly, didn't find anything specifically related to my problem (with a quick
look), I like your "Kelly's-Korner" link and will keep the link handy since
I'm new to MS-XP. Keep up the good work..... Ed

Like Getright or Flashget (my favorite). Until IE can resume downloads that's
all I use unless the site doesn't allow them. Plus, with these you can
download in multiple segments at the same time.
