MSHTML.DLL error

Just recently, within the last week, I am receiving the
following Explorer error box stating:
"Explorer has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL.
Explorer will now close."

This comes after I try to do anything (from open to rename
to delete) with an html file. The files come from a
variety of websites, some are pages off friends' websites
some are pages of information from companies, etc.. I am
using the same process as I have been for years (that
never created this problem) - after the webpage is done
loading I click on File, Save As, and then type in a
name. No problem saving. But later when I want to go
back to view it, just highlighting the files creates that
error and explorer restarts. Why is this? Please help.

Did you install anything recently that could have given you some parasites?

I have just upgraded to I.E. 5.5 and since then after browsing for some
time, Internet explorer gives the following message, and aborts:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module MSHTML.DLL at 0177:70c4d5f9.
Possible solution if you have "Gator" installed on you computer.
*** Known conflict with the "Gator" utility program -- posted recently to
various news groups...
The problem that IE 5.5 and Gator users were having is explained here:
