Would You Legally Download Windows Vista

Microsoft to offer Windows Vista for download Todd Bishop Seattle PI

"Supplementing its traditional distribution channels, Microsoft announced
last night that it will make Windows Vista and the 2007 Office System
available for purchase and download through the Windows Marketplace online
store.

For more details, see this AP story from today's newspaper. A company
representative said yesterday that the typical download time for Windows
Vista will be three to four hours over a high-speed connection. The company
offers a feature for resuming downloads if they're interrupted.

In addition, Microsoft announced the prices for people who decide to upgrade
to more-advanced versions of Windows Vista after making initial purchases.
It also detailed plans for a "family discount" incentive program that it
will offer to try to get people to install Windows Vista on multiple
computers in the home. The Windows Vista team blog has more information on
all the announcements.

See a related post by Microsoft Watch's Joe Wilcox, who questions the
approach the company is taking with the family discount program. And Mary Jo
Foley has additional information on the Windows Vista download option."

You ought to do a riddle book. I think the way I post is superlative as to
order. What breaks up text are all those pointers in the middle for the
idiot way people snip --you might as well have a toddler color all over it.

Are you fast forwarded from the Old testament to this group with all the
thusly?

Pick up a lot of babes in bars with it?

I don't get what you're saying here, but obviously I screwed up. There
was supposed to be quoted text.

Chad:
I have one comment about your reply, EXCELLENT. Have a great day.

You're good at the "me too" stuff. Excellent!

Then forget it! At that cost I want my hologram disc!!! Otherwise the
download version is more expensive as you have to figure the cost of your
DVDR :)

Scott:
I don't use the terminology "me too" often. I use the terminology "I
agree" if I agree with what was said. Usually I try to post a resolution
that works for me or update what is posted. In this case I thought that the
reply was excellent, I understood the words used so that's what I said.

And later on you may be told that your DVD-R is "not genuine";-)

If you are buying multiple copies, it's way cheaper as in $50 for two
additional Home Premium. Unless I'm misinterpreting something, it looks to
me like you can buy one retail Ultimate upgrade ($250 I think) and then up
to two more Home Premium (full copies?) for $100 for a savings of $200 for
upgrade versions or $380 for full versions.

From the Press Release:

Family Discount Rewards Multiple-PC Households

To make it easier for households with multiple PCs to make the move to
Windows Vista, Microsoft is launching a limited-time offer for customers who
buy retail copies of Windows Vista Ultimate. From Jan. 30 through June 30,
the Windows Vista Family Discount will allow North American customers to
license two additional copies of Windows Vista Home Premium for use on other
PCs in the home at the reduced price of $49.99 each. Before completing the
order online, customers will need to enter one valid full or upgrade Windows
Vista Ultimate key from their retail boxed product. After eligibility is
verified online, the customer can purchase licenses to install Windows Vista
Home Premium on one or two additional Windows-based computers. The Windows
Vista Family Discount is available only in the U.S. and Canada. More
information is available at http://www.windowsvista.com/FamilyOffer .

We are discussing if downloading Vista will be cheaper
than walking into a retail store and buying it. It will not be
cheaper.

Looking on the bright side, you won't get accosted by the clueless
plebs at Pissy World and can sit at home instead of taking the car out
in the crap weather we're currently having in the UK.

That's so true. Unfortunately, for you guys in the UK, I don't
think Vista is going to be available for download.

One wonders whether using a .com e-mail address and a US based proxy
server would get around that.

Would you legally wash your car?

Maybe I would if I had water, soap, and a bucket.
